Rachel Ray Is Not A Terrorist...Dunkin Donuts, shame on you

Rachel Ray had a Dunkin Donuts commercial set to air in which she is wearing what appears to be a traditional Arab scarf called a kuffiyeh.  What I really don't understand is what the big deal is?? Are we that xenophobic of a society that we really choose ignorance and censorship as a way of justifying taking a harmless commercial(the heart-burn you get from the coffee is much more dangerous, believe me)like this off the air??  Many ignorant peeps in this country had a finger in the donut(couldn't resist), and put pressure on the pastry giant.  Let's hope that the next administration we have builds bridges between all cultures.  And.. as a gay man and editor-in-chief, I think that women will heal this world(and our country) with or without a scarf around their neck.            -Ilan Kwittken

Megan McCain..she's cute but, what the ****?

Megan McCain.  Watch this and let me know what you think.  She is a graduate of Columbia University, ok... we all know that doesn't mean diddly-squat.  I am trying to remain objective.  Really.  If she had brown hair, less giggle and maybe a little less "stripper" make-up, maybe I could listen to her.  Is it me?  You can check out her blog and let me know.  I can take it.  I will say this:  There are things I like and things I dislike about John McCain.  I feel that way about all the candidates at this point, so I'm pretty impartial.  The brilliant thing here is that Megan's appeal to younger voters seems to be taking hold. For the record:  Megan is a smart young woman and I don't want to attack her appearance. But(you knew that was coming), her "look" is fine for a certain type of woman.  My mantra has always been "stop putting yourself up for sale".  If she weren't the daughter of a famous politician would she be a success??  Ponder, then write me.

Suze Orman...new book.Women & Money

Suze Orman first made her mark on Oprah.  Since then she's become one of the best female leaders in combining both financial advice and bridging money to the underlying issues women have.  Her book: Women and Money is a great read and guide.  Special concerns and breaking the "glass ceiling" have made our needs different from mens(the obvious).   This is why I recommend young women in  particular read this book.  Another great read by this author: The Money Book for the Young, fabulous and Broke
